Posteriormente foram publicadas várias edições piratas, com locais de edição fictícios, em 1784, 1786 e 1787, tendo a obra sido mandada destruir, por decisão judicial dos tribunais franceses, em 19 de Setembro de 1826.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePierre François Hugues, Baron d´Hancarville (Nancy 1719 - Pádua 1805) foi um colecionador de arte e estudioso de antiguidades gregas e romanas. Ajudou o embaixador britânico em Nápoles, William Hamilton a adquirir a grande colecção de antiguidades da família Porcinari, que foi depois adquirida pelo British Museum de Londres. Publicou um catálogo da colecção de Hamilton, \u003cem\u003eCollection Of Etruscan, Greek And Roman Antiquities, \u003c\/em\u003eNápoles 1766-1767, considerado um dos mais belos livros sobre o assunto e, \u003cem\u003eRecherches Sur L´Origine, L´Esprit Et Les Progres Des Arts De La Grece, Londres 1785, \u003c\/em\u003eobras que influenciaram fortemente a arte inglesa de fins do século XVIII e inícios do XIX.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e[EN] 15x10.5 cm.
