Nas páginas 41-78 'são descritos os diferentes tipos de falcões, bem como o método de treino e voo do açor e do gavião, o primeiro dos quais era muito utilizado em Itália no século XVII para apanhar perdizes e faisões', enquanto nas páginas 80-137 'são referidas as qualidades de um bom falcoeiro, o modo de treinar falcões, de os preparar para o capuz, etc., e conselhos gerais sobre alimentação e montagem' (Harting). O autor baseou-se em grande parte em informações de escritores anteriores sobre o assunto: a presente edição acrescenta uma tabela de 84 autores de quem ele tirou informação, na página 1.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCom o brasão de armas gravado (na página de rosto) e o carimbo armorial em relevo (na margem do pé da página de rosto) de José Gaetano Mazziotti Selema Garção (1893-1961). Com uma reparação antiga de um rasgão numa gravura (K4) afectando também ligeiramente o remate no verso e com alguns restauros marginais modernos; mas de resto em bom estado, com alguns picos de traça na margem superior da calha dos cadernos X-Z, sem tocar no texto; algum acastanhamento marginal. O velino estava preso ao bloco do livro apenas pelas faixas de cabeça e pelas pastas, mas as primeiras partiram-se em 3 das 4 ligações e a primeira folha da extremidade livre foi removida, deixando o velino apenas solto, mas revelando a estrutura da encadernação e os resíduos impressos utilizados para forrar a lombada. Com um rasgão reparado no velino da encadernação. On pp. 41-78 \"\"the different kinds of falcons and hawks are described, as well as the method of training and flying the goshawk and sparrow-hawk, the former of which was much used in Italy in the seventeenth century for taking partridges and pheasants.' While on pp. 80-137 'the qualities of a good falconer are noted, the mode of training falcons, making them to the hood, \u0026amp;c., and general advice as to feeding and mounting\"\" (Harting). The author drew largely on information from previous writers on the subject: the present edition adds a table of 84 authors from whom he borrowed, facing page 1.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWith the engraved armorial bookplate (on paste-down) and embossed armorial stamp (in foot margin of title-page) of José Gaetano Mazziotti Selema Garção (1893-1961). Leaf K4 and possibly some other leaves with engravings appear to have been sophisticated at an early date, so that they are no longer conjugate. With an old repair to a tear in one engraving (K4) also slightly affecting the tailpiece on the back and with some modern marginal restorations; but otherwise in good condition, with some worm holes in the upper gutter margin of quires X-Z, not touching the text; some marginal browning. The vellum was secured to the book block only by the headbands and paste-downs, but the former have broken at 3 of the 4 connections and the first free end leaf has been removed, leaving the vellum only loosely attached, but revealing the binding structure and the printed waste use to line the spine. With a tear repaired in the vellum of the binding.
