A operação de maior envergadura foi o Cerco da cidade de Viena, que começou em 14 de Julho de 1683 e terminou com a derrota das tropas turcas sitiantes, pelo exército de socorro comandado pelo Rei da Polónia, João Sobieski, em 12 de Setembro de 1683. Foi um dos mais importantes acontecimentos da história da Europa, pois marcou o fim do avanço do Império Otomano. A obra narra as operações militares subsequentes que levaram à reconquista da Hungria e de outros territórios dos Balcãs até ao ano de 1688. É autor de quinze obras publicadas entre 1681 e 1708. Pertenceu à Ordem dos Antonianos e a partir de 1687 transferiu-se para a Ordem de S. Jerónimo.
