Roque em Lisboa e tambÃ©m na Universidade de Ã‰vora. Foi qualificador do Santo OfÃ­cio, desembargador da RelaÃ§Ã£o do Patriarca de Lisboa, seu confessor e do Infante D. AntÃ³nio. Â \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePhilosophy compendium that presents logics according to the Aristotelian categories and it falls within the framework of the effort to renovate the compendia of Coimbra (that had been published between 1592 and 1606) in the 18\u003csup\u003eth\u003c\/sup\u003e century by priests of the Society of Jesus like GregÃ³rio Barreto or AntÃ³nio Cordeiro.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe author (Cantanhede, 1669 - Ã‰vora, 14-01-1729) joined the Society of Jesus on the 22nd of January 1685 in Coimbra where he studied philosophy and theology between 1688 and 1701 at the University, where he later was teacher of those same subjects. He also taught rhetoric in Santo AntÃ£o and S. Roque in Lisbon, as well as in The University of Ã‰vora. He was qualifier of the Holy Office, judge at the court of appeal of Lisbonâ€™s Patriarch, his confessor and also of the Prince D. AntÃ³nio.
