Mais tarde foi professor na recém criada Universidade de Alcalá de Henares.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePrimeira edição em língua castelhana, e também a primeira impressa na Península Ibérica. Esta edição do tratado influenciou de forma capital o ensino científico português e foi crucial aos navegadores Ibéricos que partiam para o Novo Mundo. A palavra América aparece no verso do fólio 42. O primeiro comentário em português ao tratado de Sacrobosco foi feito por Pedro Nunes em 1537. A sua leitura foi obrigatória em Espanha por ordem real publicada nas Leys da Recopilacion  (V. tit.
