Bento, na folha de rosto e no último fólio, e uma gravura de pagina inteira no verso do último fólio, nesta gravura utilizou-se as mesmas xilogravuras  com se imprimiu a folha de rosto da primeira edição de Os Lusíadas, pelicano com a cabeça para a esquerda, o que talvez permita desfazer a ideia de que a chapa se estragou e que por isso se utilizou uma chapa diferente, pelicano com a cabeça virada para a direita na tiragem B. Exemplar com antigos restauros marginais (à cabeça e no pé) nas folhas de rosto para remoção de assinaturas de posse. Estas duas primeiras edições da regra de S. Bento, embora publicadas em simultâneo são dois especímens bibliográficos diferentes. Anselmo 972. D. The Portuguese text of the Rules of the Chapter are illustrated on the last folio or colophon (actually it is a full page “frontispiece” on the verse of last folio). On this engraving the printer used the same intaglio printed at the frontispiece of the first edition of The Lusíadas (pelican head to the left) which is a proof that the intaglio was not lost or damaged between the first and the second edition of the Lusíadas.
