Moldura da época em madeira com folhas decorativas douradas em gesso nos cantos.

Óleo sobre tela mostrando em primeiro plano um grupo de pessoas e uma vaca e em Segundo plano um rio correndo na direcção do observador a partir das montanhas, visíveis ao centro da tela, passando sob uma ponte. À esquerda encontra-se um castelo e à direita uma igreja ou abadia.

Quadro belo e único, apesar de ligeiramente naïf, com as árvores emoldurando a paisagem. Tendo em conta as características arquitectónicas representadas poderemos afirmar que se trata de uma representação do Rio Reno entre a Alemanha e a Suíça.

Framed in a contemporary wooden frame with plastered golden leafs at corners.

Oil on canvas, showing in the foreground a group of peasants and a cow; and in the background a river flowing in the direction of the viewer below a bridge coming from the mountains seen at the far centre. On the left there is a castle, and on the right stands a church or abbey.

This is a beautiful and unique, although slightly naïf painting, with the trees framing the view at each side. According to the architecture we can say that, most probably, it is a romantic depiction of the River Rhine between Germany and Switzerland.
